The Pets Effect

What is it

The Pet Effect is the simple idea that showing the animals behind a brand helps people connect with the humans behind it.
In a world of logos, suits and slogans, a pet instantly cuts through the corporate surface. It reminds us that there are real people with real lives behind the business.

Whether it’s a dog in the office, a cat on a Zoom call or a parrot on the company “About” page, pets give brands personality. They make a company feel alive.

How it works

Pets trigger warmth, trust and relatability. Those are emotions that marketing departments spend fortunes trying to create.
They lower defences, increase attention and create instant rapport. When a customer sees a team dog or office cat, they stop thinking of a faceless company and start feeling like they know the people behind it.

It’s not about being cute. It’s about being human. A photo of a dog called Ludo can do more for brand connection than another stock image of a handshake ever could.

How you can use it

If your business has a pet, use them to show the human side of what you do.
Add them to your website, feature them in social posts or give them a playful job title like Wellness Coach or Head of Barketing.

If you don’t have a pet, borrow the principle. Show something real. The people, the places, the moments that make your company feel human.

People don’t just buy from businesses.
They buy from people. And pets help prove that those people exist.

Example

This company lists their dog as a member of staff with a cute job title.
