What is it?

The Feynman Technique looks at how best to explain information to potential clients by reducing the complexity so that a toddler could understand.

Why does it work?

As well as being CLEAR, reducing the complexity of your messaging and boiling everything to the component parts is a powerful way to engage potential clients because they will actually understand what you’re offering.

How can you use it?

Following the simple 4 step process, how could you eliminate complicated, unnecessary and insular technical jargon from your sales messaging to give yourself a higher chance of engaging and converting your potential clients?

Example:

A cybersecurity company originally said:

“We offer enterprise-grade, end-to-end encrypted, zero-trust network access solutions.”

After applying the Feynman Technique, they changed it to:

“We help keep your business safe online – so hackers can’t get in, and your team can work securely from anywhere.”

The second version sounds like something you’d say to a 10-year-old – and that’s exactly the point. It’s human, clear, and instantly understandable. No jargon, no confusion.
