What is it?

If you want buyers to act, then a one time offer is one of the harshest ways to do it.

So long as you are genuine and don’t waver in your approach, offering something once only can really make buyers think seriously about it.

Why does it work?

It works because it gives the buyer an ultimatum. They have to decide and decide NOW.

No time for thinking, waiting or follow up – it’s now or never.

Using scarcity, it acts like a flash sale or a fast action bonus to ensure your serious buyers make themselves known as quickly as possible.

How can you use it?

If you want to take this approach, you simply need to make very clear to buyers that they have ONE opportunity to buy only and they will never have the option to buy again. It really is that simple.

You need to proceed with caution though.

I had first hand experience of a one time offer which I declined and I didn’t like the fact that the control and choice of the matter was essentially taken away from me. If I changed my mind and wanted to join it was simply too late.

Example

The best example of this would be when you visit a theme park and they offer you to upgrade to an annual pass… but ONLY whilst you are on site. In that regard, you only have one opportunity to buy and this can add scarcity and motivation to your buying decision.
