Demonstrative Competence
Your buyers judge you on plenty of things. But nothing matters more than whether you can actually deliver what you claim. So talk is cheap. Proof is what closes the gap.
Why Does It Work
It works because a mismatch is impossible to ignore. If I claim to build great websites, but mine is terrible, that says everything. So if you can’t show me you can deliver, I’m unlikely to trust you at all.
How Can You Use It
Be The Best Example Yourself
Be the best possible example of whatever you claim to be good at. If you sell clarity, your own message needs to be clear. So whatever you promise your buyer, prove it first on yourself.
Collect And Share Real Proof
Collect and share real examples and stories of your work. A single concrete story beats any claim you could make about yourself. So let other people’s results do the talking for you.
When It Works Best
This works best when your claim is easy to verify at a glance. So the more visible your proof, the faster trust builds. It suits any offer where the result can be seen or tested directly.
When It Becomes Dangerous
It becomes dangerous when the gap between claim and proof is obvious. Because buyers notice inconsistency faster than almost anything else you do. So never claim more than you can actually show.
Common Mistakes
Talking A Big Game With No Backup
Talking a big game with nothing to back it is the most common mistake I see. A bold claim without proof invites scrutiny. So earn the claim first, then say it out loud.
Hiding Your Best Proof
Hiding your best proof instead of leading with it is the second mistake. If your strongest story sits buried on page five, most buyers never find it. So put your best example front and centre.
Demonstrative Competence – An Example
Clear Sales Message™ Itself
Clear Sales Message™ is just three words. Those three words let you understand my offer almost instantly. That’s exactly what I deliver for my clients too. I’ve met people doing similar work with abstract names. Names nobody can easily read, write, speak or spell. So my own name proves the very thing I sell.
