Practical Sales Training™ > How To Get Attention > Projection Advertising
What is Projection Advertising?
Projection advertising uses bright projectors to place images, video, or text onto buildings and large surfaces after dark. It is sometimes called building projection, light advertising, or projection mapping. Nothing is printed or stuck to the wall. Your message appears with light, then disappears when you switch it off.
How does Projection Advertising work?
The method is simple and powerful.
-
Pick the spot
Choose a clean flat surface with a clear view from the street. Think walls, bridges, landmarks, or event venues. -
Plan the creative
Decide on a static logo, short message, or a moving animation. Keep it bold and high contrast so people can read it fast. -
Set the kit
Use a bright projector, a stand or safe mount, a media player or laptop, and power. Aim the lens, focus the image, and square it to the surface. -
Map the surface
For shaped buildings, use mapping software to line up the content so it fits the edges and avoids windows. -
Switch on at the right time
Start after sunset for maximum impact. Run on a loop and capture photos and video for social media.
Because it uses light, not paint, projection advertising is clean, fast to set up, and easy to remove. Turn it off and the surface is unchanged.
