What is it?

The more descriptive words you use (adjectives) the more expensive something will feel.

Why does it work?

It works because if we are taking time to describe the details of something, it implies a lot of time, care and attention has gone into that thing. Time, care and attention are hallmarks of something that has a greater value.

How can you use it?

If you want to make something sound more expensive, then use more words. Syllables are expensive!

An example:

Use location names

Fresh, Scottish Salmon.

Use obscurity and specificity

Fresh, Scottish Salmon from the Brae and Lerwick Islands

Use terminology / materials

Adfluvial Scottish Salmon, from the Brae and Lerwick Islands

Describe techniques and processes

Pole caught Adfluvial Scottish Salmon, from the Brae and Lerwick Islands
