What is it?

This is a bold approach – SUGGESTING that people unsubscribe from your email list because they aren’t opening your messages.

Why does it work?

It works because it puts you in a dilemma. Your behaviour says you don’t want to stay subscribed, but maybe you have just been a little busy or lazy. By actively asking to stay subscribed, you are far more likely to open and read the emails rather than let it slip again.

How can you use it?

To make this work, you need courage!

Simply run a list of those on your mailing list who haven’t opened your emails in the last xx days or months and contact them.

Example

This example below inspired this page. An incredibly bold move!

Orange x close icon above a newsletter subscription prompt saying you havent opened any recent newsletters with a gray rounded message and an orange rounded button labeled keep me subscribed

I also had a “I’ll stop spamming you ket me know” style email too that was equally as unusual:

Man bending over the front of a gray car with its hood open head near the engine on a street
