Exit intent occurs when you move your mouse cursor towards the top of the computer screen – indicating you might be about to leave the site.
Why does it work?
It works because it’s a form of behavioural messaging. You can get the right message to the right person at the right time.
How can you use it?
To put this into action is simple enough, you simply need to add an exit intent popup to your website either via a plugin or by having your web developer create it for you.
Things to place in the popup:
- Discount codes.
- Lead Magnets and email list signups.
- Links to useful resources.
- Special offers and deals.
