What is it?

The Recommended By Effect is all about promoting notable people or organisations that recommend your offering.

 

Why does it work?

It works because it’s an example of social proof. By making it clear that dentists recommend your toothpaste, it implies not only that it works, but it works well enough and is notable enough to share with others. Buyers are looking for the elimination of risk, so knowing that your offering is recommended implies it works so well that your clients become advocates.

 

How can you use it?

If you don’t already have advocates who recommend your offering, think about selecting notable and respected people or organisations to establish that relationship. Reaching out to associations, groups, businesses and notable people can not only lead to your offering being recommended, but also help improve your offering through valuable feedback.
